Shown are prints of digitally created retrofuturistic mixed media pictures, in which photos of model railway scenes have been embedded into virtual worlds. While some pictures look historically authentic, others do not fit to a particular era. In some pictures, trains run through landscapes that seem to come from dystopian near-future settings. While, at a glance, some scenes look very realistic, the fictitous background will become obvious when looking at the details. Some scenes seem to be fallen out of time in a rather disturbing way. For the creation of the virtual environments, I started using screenshot from computer games. Later, I used the AI engine Midjourney. In some pictures, I let Midjourney adopt the style of a particular game. This way, there is no break in style compared with with the older pictures.
